Romeo's 3rd week in professional training

Several of us from Equihab went up to see Romeo at the trainer’s farm today.  Romeo is doing excellent.  He lets anyone clean out his feet & groom him now.   They went out on a trail ride with challenging hills, and he did awesome.   He stood quietly for tacking, untacking, waiting, and bathing.

Update on adopted Betty the Belgian

Betty is so vibrant and full of life. 12/29/09

Betty, an older ex-amish Belgian, was adopted about two years ago.   She’s now enjoying her days doing light riding and some pleasure harness work at her new home in New Jersey.

Gertie, the $85 mare – coming to Equihab!

Today, a good Samaritan, Carol, paid for the freedom of a sweet Belgian mare.    The mare was dropped off at a nearby auction, where nobody bid on her.  Almost nobody was bidding today, and due to the recent blizzard, attendance was poor.   Finally, a reluctant bidder offered a token amount, likely to ship her for [...]
